Words of Hope, Truth and Love!

Words! They are powerful. They are effective. Words can be used for good or not so pleasant intentions. Words convey feelings, beliefs, our character and inner thoughts. Words can encourage or discourage, heal and bring forgiveness or cut deep wounds. Words make a lasting impression – positive or negative. They strengthen a broken heart or break a heart, bring joy and gladness or cause anger and dissension and more.

We make word choices daily, and the words we choose to use impact the lives of those in our sphere of influence.  We choose what words we will speak and adhere to. We choose what words we will allow to influence us. We choose what words we will teach our children.

As children of God, we are called to daily read and obey The Word, God’s Word! It is a choice we make to commit ourselves to His Word, to listen to His counsel, instruction, teachings, warnings, promises and commands. His Word admonishes, guides, strengthens, and encourages.

Psalm 19.14 says,May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer”.  What a beautiful prayer to implement daily as my feet make their way to the coolness of the morning air. How will the words I choose to speak today affect those in my sphere of influence? Will I be mindful to speak wonderful words of hope, truth and love that are pleasing to God, my Rock and my Redeemer?

My desktop reminder states: “True, Noble, Right, Pure, Lovely, Admirable! Think on these things!”Philippians 4.8   Serving as a first point of contact to individuals in the workplace, the words I choose to offer have potential to provide a positive experience. The meditation of my heart will be displayed in my words. As I daily commit to reading His Word, the meditation of my heart is tuned to be pleasing in His sight and others can be impacted for His glory. My daily prayer is: May the words of my mouth…be pleasing in your sight, O Lord…” as I serve those You choose to place in my sphere of influence today.

WORDS! They are powerful! They impact! May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer”!
