I was frustrated. Why did I have to wash the dishes before I put them in the dishwasher?

A couple of years ago as the Lord was guiding me through the Book of Exodus, I was wrestling with God’s call to my current ministry role. There was a tug-of-war going on inside my heart.

I live in rural Iowa, surrounded by corn and soybean fields. During these past few weeks I’ve watched the once-green fields turn golden brown. I awoke one morning last month with a phrase on my heart and mind—“look at the fields.”
