Lunch and Learn - Last year, our church participated in the Natural Church Development survey to gain a deeper understanding of church growth. Belle Glade Alliance Church in Belle Glade, Florida, was established in 1956 and has had peaks and valleys, as most churches experience. My husband and I had only served in this church for a few months before the survey...(Read the full article.)

Laboring for Labor Day - North Shore is a missions-minded church. We believe we must do more than just talk the talk. Above the door of the sanctuary a sign says, "You are now entering your mission field." We have sent out and support several missionary families keeping regular contact and praying for them daily. Every couple of years church members travel out of the US to missions fields for short term work. This past year we could not afford the money or time...(Read the full article.)

PANDA...A New Beginning - In August of 2008, my husband, children and I answered the call of God to pastor Belle Glade Alliance Church in Belle Glade, Florida. Regarded highly for agriculture, fertile land, and star football players, Belle Glade is equally notorious for alligators, prisons, and crime. Also in this community are law-abiding citizens with hearts of gold, many of whom attend our church...(Read the full article.)

OUTREACH EVENT: Professional Assistants Day Luncheon - My husband Jim, the pastor calls this event a "God-thing"! The idea was a result of the information my daughter, Dawn and I got from attending the Women's Leadership Studies we attended in Orlando.

Our church in Stuart, FL is located near multiple business offices. The idea to have a 'Professional Assistants Day Luncheon' at the church in April came from discussing outreach ideas...(Read the full article.)

God's Amazing Grace - This is the story of a woman who has gone from bondage to freedom in Christ. Sallie had been abused by her first husband and knew she had to get herself and her two children out of that home. She had no way to support them and was approached by someone about working in an "escort business." Seeing how cruelly the employees were treated, she decided to start her own service, determined to see that her employees were treated with respect and not harmed. She became known for safety, fairness and ... (Read the full article.)

Reaching Beyond Our Border - "Reaching Beyond Our Border" has been a challenge and a struggle throughout our history. A good example of this is when the Samaritan woman said to Jesus, "You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?" (John 4:9). John made an insertion here saying, "For Jews do not associate with Samaritans." (Read the full article.)

In Our Neighborhoods (Article from 2002-2003 Yearbook, Illuminating the Way)
Each of us has an incredible opportunity for Illuminating the Way - reflecting the love of Jesus with those who are geographically the closest to us - our Neighbors. It is not an accident that we live in our present location. God has carefully orchestrated for each of us to be where we are and He intends for us to be a bright spiritual light in the darkness that surrounds us. He has placed us in our neighborhoods with great purpose. (See full article.)

Outreach: An Event and a Lifestyle (Article from 2002-2003 Yearbook, Illuminating the Way)
"Lighting the Way" is the theme chosen for the outreach event. The event can be sponsored by the Alliance Women for the entire churchs' participation or simply be held as an Alliance Women's outreach. The Alliance Women and/or church people are encouraged to invite those who have been influential in their lives - those who have helped to light their way, and others who do not know the Lord. Time should be given during the program to appreciate those who have been a light. The meal can be prepared by the ladies or catered. The tables can be decorated with an open Bible in the center and candles on either side of it. (See full article.)
